After graduating with a BFA in 2002 from Colorado State University, Ryan Gilmartin moved to New York and maintained a studio practice while working as an art handler. In 2011 he earned a Master’s of Fine Art degree and graduated with distinction from Pratt Institute.

Following a move back to Colorado, he joined Metropolitan State University of Denver as an affiliate faculty member and instructed courses in Painting, Drawing, and Foundations 3D.

His interdisciplinary studio practice regularly involves painting, drawing, sculpture and design and has exhibited in galleries across the U.S. In 2016, Ryan became a stay-at-home dad and has added working on his home and making things for his kids to his art and design practice.
